Junior Professorship Comparative Politics

The professorship is dedicated to research and teaching in Comparative Politics, with the aim to understand politics through the comparison of political structures and process. Its research studies the representation of women, immigrants and historic minorities in western democracies. Various research projects analyze the effects of electoral systems on different facets of representation, map change in the legislative behavior of men and women over time and identify explanatory factors for variation in the share of women at different levels of government. A second research strand evolves around a project concerned with the relationship between prime ministers’ career patterns and their performance in office.
