Information for Incoming Students

Welcome to the Department of Political Science and Communication Studies (IPK)!

At the IPK, you can study various courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. In political science, classes are offered in both German and English, with at least one class per module taught in English. In order to participate in classes in communication science, we recommend that students have good German language skills (equivalent to B2 CEFR).

Course catalogues will be published prior to the start of the semester on our website. Please note that the range of courses on offer varies each semester. Therefore, we will be unable to provide you with information regarding courses (e.g. for your Learning Agreements) until December (for the summer semester) or June (for the winter semester). As an orientation and to gain an overview of the general structure, we invite you to explore our current and past course catalogues.

After being admitted as an incoming student at the University of Greifswald, the International Office will serve as your primary point of contact, offering advice and support in preparation for and throughout your studies at the University of Greifswald. All administrative matters should be directed to them.
