ERASMUS+
A semester or year abroad opens up completely new perspectives - for your studies and for life. In addition to broadening study perspectives, students consolidate their language skills and extend their network of international contacts. Experience abroad is also a welcome and desirable qualification in today's labour market. ERASMUS+ in particular, as the most popular exchange programme, offers a number of advantages such as exemption from tuition fees, guaranteed recognition of examinations and coursework, accommodation in halls of residence and more.
Important: to get an ERASMUS place, you must apply in the winter semester for the following winter and summer semester. In other words: preparations begin approx. 12 months before the planned period of stay abroad! You will therefore find the most important information and modalities relating to ERASMUS+ on this page and in more detail on the corresponding subpages of the German website.
You should also make use of the consultation hours of the subject coordinators and the regular introductory event ("First consultation for the period of study abroad") organised by the International Office and keep an eye out for notices at the Department to find out about details in good time.
Procedure and application
To obtain an ERASMUS place, you must apply to the respective subject area. However, the application procedure and requirements are the same for both subject areas at IPK. Information on the procedure, important information regarding various steps to be taken from your application to your return, and the application form can be found in the detailed description on the German webpages.
A detailed description of the procedure is available on the German page [de]
Mobility window
The mobility window refers to the semester or semesters that are best suited for a stay abroad pursuant to the sample study plan. Since you are studying a 2-subject bachelor's degree course in Greifswald, it is advisable to start planning your stay early and possibly take certain modules early or postpone them. However, with our help, you should be able to fit your stay in seamlessly.
Partner universities
The IPK maintains ERASMUS partnerships with 15 universities across Europe, where you can spend up to one year abroad. You can find detailed information about the universities, the number of places available and further details in the overview on the German page.
About ERASMUS+
The ERASMUS programme was established in 1987 by the European Union and its predecessors to promote periods of study abroad at universities, which was later extended to other areas. Further details and benefits of the programme for student mobility, lecturer mobility and supporting internships and periods of teaching practice can be found in the programme description.
